Mexico, Jan. 16 (Notimex).- International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), unanimously elected Mexico as president of its General Assembly for the next term 2014-2015.
Thereby, Minister of Energy Pedro Joaquin Coldwell will lead the fourth annual assembly of the international agency.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Energy (SENER, for its acronym in Spanish), Mexico reaffirms its commitment in the development of new technologies to enhance energy security, economic growth, sustainable development and environmental protection by innovative use of renewable resources.
The official document notes that Mexico’s bid was completed in Abu Dhabi by SENER and by the national Embassy to United Arab Emirates.
Finally, the document discloses Mexico’s reelection as board member of the Latin America and the Caribbean regional Council, along with Granada and Uruguay.
