El Kindle Paperwhite no es el lector electrónico más nuevo de Amazon, pero sigue siendo uno de los favoritos gracias en parte a su sistema de iluminación de la pantalla que te permite leer en la oscuridad. Y sólo por hoy, la versión más cara, con Wi-Fi, 3G y sin anuncios, está a US$189, rebajada de US$209; y la más barata, sin 3G y con anuncios, está a US$99, rebajada de US$119.
Los anuncios de ofertas y descuentos especiales patrocinados en el salvapantallas que aparecen en la página de inicio son molestos, pero por ahorrarte US$20 igual y vale la pena aguantarlos e ignorarlos. Las versiones sin 3G sólo te permiten descargar libros si estás conectado a un Wi-Fi, pero si tienes Wi-Fi en casa, puedes ahorrar otros US$20.
Los editores de CNET le dieron al Kindle Paperwhite una calificación de 8.9 (de 10) y lo llamaron el mejor lector electrónico de su clase cuando debutó en el 2013. Amazon debutó a su hermano mayor, el Kindle Voyage (US$199-US$289), el año pasado, pero el Paperwhite no se le queda muy atrás.

At first glance, Amazon's new Kindle Paperwhite e-ink e-reader looks a lot like last year's Kindle Touch. That's because aside from the missing physical home button, the chassis is mostly the same -- and the two devices actually both weigh 7.5 ounces.
But turn the Paperwhite on and you'll see some key differences. For starters, the Paperwhite has that integrated light that Kindle aficionados have been waiting for.
It also has a capacitive touch screen rather than the IR-based touch screen found on competing touch-screen models from Barnes & Noble, Sony, and Kobo.
And finally, that screen is a higher-resolution 1,024x768-pixel display with 212ppi that allows text and images to be rendered more crisply (images also appear more detailed).
Look closely and you'll see that by moving to a capacitive touch screen, Amazon's designers were able to shave some thickness off the bezel (the IR transmitters that measure your finger taps on the screen were built into the bezel on the Touch), making the Paperwhite slightly thinner than the Touch. Amazon says the bezel is 77 percent shorter (that helps reduce the small shadow the raised bezel casts).
As with all these devices, I need to play around with the Paperwhite for a while to uncover any potential flaws or bugs (Amazon and other companies always release firmware upgrades for their devices that improve performance and add features). But my initial impression is that this is a big step forward for the Kindle e-ink line. Though it may not be a quantum jump, this is the Kindle a lot of people have been waiting for and they should be impressed by it.
El Paperwhite tienen memoria incorporada de 2GB (1GB se usa para almacenamiento), pantalla táctil de 6 pulgadas de alta resolución y batería duradera. Pero lo mejor realmente es la selección masiva de títulos de Amazon. A mí me siguen gustando los libros de papel, pero ocupan espacio, colectan polvo y a veces no vale la pena conservarlos todos. El Kindle Paperwhite te permite llevarlos contigo adondequiera que vayas, y deshacerte de ellos cuando quieras.
Oferta adicional: Si no tienes Wi-Fi, Amazon también tiene el AirPort Express rebajado a US$79 de US$99. Simplemente conéctalo a tu DSL y voilà, Wi-Fi en casa. Así no tienes que pagar por el Paperwhite G3.
