Notimex

Moscow, Sep. 11 (Notimex).- Russian President Vladimir Putin could meet with the president-elect of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in the framework of the summit of the Group of 20 (G-20) in Argentina next November, or during a visit to Mexico, the Kremlim revealed today.

"There are options to consider: a flight to Mexico or a meeting in Argentina," said Kremlin collaborator Yuri Ushakov, when asked by the press about a possible meeting between Putin and the future Mexican president, the Russian agencies Itar -tass and Sputnik, reported on Tuesday.

The adviser to the Russian president did not rule out that the meeting will be held within the framework of the G-20 summit, scheduled to take place in Argentina from November 30 to December 1, or even that Putin will travel to Mexico.

"Argentina is not far away, so there are several options that we can consider: a flight to Mexico or a meeting in Argentina, both options will be taken into account," Ushakov added, clarifying that he still did not know which one would be chosen.

The future Mexican Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, reported the day before that López Obrador invited the Russian president to his protest on December 1, at the end of a meeting with the Russian ambassador in Mexico, Viktor Coronelli.

"López Obrador invited (Putin) to accompany him on December 1 at the swearing-in ceremony and inauguration," Ebrard told reporters after his meeting with the ambassador.

The next Mexican foreign minister said that López Obrador was ready for Putin's visit at the most convenient time for the Russian president.
